Retired Indian bullrider, Ken Childers, passed away Friday evening, February 4th, 2005. He has been the Indian Education coordinator for the Coweta (Oklahoma) Public schools since 1977. Ken also served as a tribal officer for the Muscogee Creek Nation of Oklahoma. 
A wake service will be 7p.m. on Monday, February 7th, 2005 at the Church of Prophecy. The funeral will be on Tuesday, February 8th, 2005 at 10a.m. at the Church of Coweta.

Prayer request for Navajo Nation Warrior

WINDOW ROCK - The Navajo Nation has lost another young warrior.
According to a Marine press statement that was released on Wednesday, Lance Cpl. Quinn A. Keith, 21, of Page, Ariz., was among seven Marines who were killed on Sept. 6 near Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

Keith, who was Towering House Clan and born for Bitter Water Clan, was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
According to a New York Times article, the seven Marines and three Iraqis were killed when a car bomb ripped through their convoy of American and Iraqi troops near Falluja, which is 35 miles west of Baghdad, Monday morning.

"We must always remember our soldiers and our veterans and their families," said Shirley. "Many of our soldiers who have fallen have given the ultimate sacrifice so we can live in freedom in these lands, on the land between these Four Sacred Mountains."

Quinn was the oldest of three brothers and one sister. He was a graduate of Page High School.

Prayer Request for Monroe Family

Jarrett Monroe's Mom, and grandparents were in a very bad car accident last year (03) they need prayer for recovering from their injuries.  Jarrett's Mom, Laura sang the Canadian national anthem at the 2003 INFR.  Jarrett is the 2003 INFR Saddle Bronc  Champion, and he needs some prayers to help him get through college this spring. 

One of the oldest rodeo clowns, Joe Hobbs, died April 16, 2004 in Mesa Arizona. He just celebrated his 85th Birthday. He is survived by his wife Grace and daughter Margaret Hobbs Koile. Please say a prayer for them.

If their is anyone left who remembers Joe, he gave meaning to the phrase 'ornery old coot'.

There's an Indian Cowboy that's been down on his fortune lately. He still took a chance to ride in some of the shows down here in Arizona. He left his vehicle up in Washington and flew down on Southwest. He is currently catching rides to make 3 shows. Pray that he will be successful in his endeavors, to strengthen his "faith" in the Lord Jesus Christ and for him to make it home safely. He is a past Indian World Bareback Riding Champion and he needs prayers from all our fellow believers and those that feel in their hearts to make a difference in other Cowboys' lives. In Memory of Anthony C Jacome

In loving memory of Anthony Christopher Jacome, our son, brother, cousin, nephew and grandson. Anthony passed away July 28th 2003. He will be dearly missed by his family. In memory of him, we would like to wish him a Happy Birthday, his birthday was on January 27th, he would have turned 10 years old. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TONY. Anthony has 2 sisters, and 3 brothers. He was the youngest of the boys. His parents are Robert and June Jacome of Pinon Az. It will be hard to get use to him being gone. We miss him everyday and he is in our thoughts daily. He was an energetic young boy who was always laughing, playing and riding horses between houses. He loved chasing in the cows for his brothers and always did chores for his grandma. He loved going traveling with his mom and dad and always picked on his sisters. He had many nicknames, such as: Tony Balony, Tony the Tiger, and Toonee was how his grandma pronouced it when she called him. He was the first to sit down for breakfast with his grandma and picked on his brothers while they slept-in in the mornings. As we wipe our silent tears away when we see his pictures and remember the thoughtful memories, we know he is in heaven up above. He's an Angel looking down upon us, keeping us happy and safe. October 20, 2003 PBR Bull Rider Prayer Request

Beau Lindley and his family need our prayers for Beau's complete recovery 
right now.The rider from Apache Junction, Arizona,who is in 23rd place in the 
standings is currently in the hospital under observation due to a broken bone in 
his neck and a spinal cord contusion suffered when he bucked off of Tony 
Sharp's Lefty during the long go on Saturday night at the Lonestar Steakhouse 
and Saloon Columbus Invitational. Beau landed hard on his head and neck and was 
knocked unconscious. It was a frightening scene for everyone ; and I know 
my heart was in my mouth, remembering other such scenes in the past. Dr. Tandy 
Freeman and his crew worked on Beau in the arena, and he was carried out on a 
stretcher and rushed to the hospital where he is in stable condition
.The PBR is a family that sticks together; and they will hold a special 
charity auction at the World Finals to help allay the expenses that Beau and 
his family will incur.PBR President World Champion Tuff Hedeman was quoted :
"There is hope and optimism that Beau will have a healthy recovery, and he 
and his family are in my thoughts and prayers." 
Tuff broke his neck more than once; and he knows well what feelings Beau is 
going through.Dr. Freeman is also optimistic about Beau's recovery while CEO 
Randy Bernard asked that everyone keep Beau's recovery in their thoughts and 
prayers.
Cody Custer has faith that the Lord will see Beau and his family through 
this. This would have been Beau's second consecutive trip to the finals.
We all know that this is one of the worst injuries a rodeo rider can suffer 
and I ask everyone to please pray for Beau and his family.

McBride.Justin was bucked off and stepped on by the big bull , who came down hard on

July 25, 2003  Prayer Request

We would like to send out a prayer request to our brother, son, and uncle US Marine Cpl. Robertson L. Yazzie of Hardrock Az. He has been in the Marines for 3 years now, which 2 1/2 years was spent over seas. He was stationed in Okinawa Japan, during his time there he has been to North Korea, and went to fight against terrorism in search for terrorist in the Philippines. He just returned from Okinawa and got stationed on Yuma, Az on June 9th, 2003. After just returning home to Arizona we spent weekend with him as a family and now he has left for Iraq this past Sunday July 20th. We received a call from him on Tuesday July 22nd and he said he was in Kuwait. They will be moving north towards Iraq and we ask for your prayers that he will be protected and come home safe. He is very dedicated and stated that this is why he is a Marine and proud to be a Navajo Marine from Hardrock Az representing the Navajo Nation. And we hope all the men and women in the armed forces are safe and come home to their families safe.

We, the sister and brothers of Robertson are of the Edgewater Clan born for the Chishi (Chirchiawa Apache) clan, and our maternal grandparents are the Mexican clan and our paternal grandparents are the Rock Gap People. Our families live in White Valley in the Hardrock Area. We are proud of our brother and he is a good role model for younger generation. We know that he will come home safe because as a family we pray together and love each other. And we just ask for your prayers for his safe return and for all our military men and women. Thank You! July 16, 2003   Prayer Request

Asking everyone to say a prayer for Koty Brugh, he broke his hand last weekend in Florida bull riding, this is the third time in six months that he's broken his bull riding hand.  He will be in surgery on Thursday July 17.  Pray that he has a good recovery and goes through the best physical therapy.  

We are going to need alot of prayer for his hand to heal right and hopefully he won't be out long. Thanks, Perrie & Hyatt Rowel

Update:  Koty had surgery and it went well, the doc's said he should be healed up in 3 months, though he probably won't be able to make it to INFR this year, but we'll surely see him riding and winning in the PBR arena next winter, and winning in 2003!

June 26, 2003  Prayer Request for missing man

I would like to ask everyone to pray for Steven Bushman, who went missing on Sunday early morning, on the Yakama reservation.   He was last seen leaving White Swan driving to Toppenish to eat Breakfast at the Legends Casino, he was driving a White blazer.  Known as a very reliable employee of IHS and a former Marine, it is not likely he fled.   Please take a moment to pray for his safe return and his family who are going through a tremendous time trying to find their son.  
Steven is 33, has one daughter and is married,  his Dad Michael Bushman, and his Mom, Stephanie Blodgett, will need your prayers.

June 17, 2003  Prayer Request

Hi everyone, just wanted to write and ask that ya'll would keep my sister Cristie in your prayers. She's been having some problems lately and not feeling well at all. Long story made short, she underwent a bunch of tests and got sent to the Cancer Clinic of Kansas in Wichita. Her white cell count is very low and the doctor saw a lot of abnormal cells under the microscope. She will go in next Monday for a bone marrow biopsy. Hopefully it's not what they think. They are thinking leukemia. We are beleiving that God is gonna intervene and make her whole again. I'd appreciate everyone being in agreement with us. Thanks so much!

Update 6/24/03

"Cristie" who underwent a bone marrow biopsy 2 days ago and is awaiting results testing for Leukemia. That's what the doctors are afraid of. I'm just looking for people to be in agreement with me that God's will whatever that may be will be done. She should know something by next week.

Just wanted to say Thanks to everyone for their prayers and support regarding my sister, Cristie's bone marrow biopsy.  She got the results back today and it was negative for leukemia.  Praise God!!!!  She has some kinda virus that is being treated and everything looks great.  Thanks again.
