POW WOW  RODEO  STICK GAME TOURNAMENT

August 19-20 2005

This year's rodeo was a huge success!! We had a pretty much sold out crowd Saturday night and the stock was very good thanks to Harlan Knowles, Owner of Lazy HK Rodeo Co., who brought some of his bulls he uses in the Professional Bull Riders tour, and Gene Hedden, Owner of Walking H Rodeo Co. We had lots of great roughstock action. Grizzly was the $500 Bounty Bull chosen each night and went unridden. We had awesome Wildhorse Race action because we had some national champions competing and the current National Champion, the Randal Walker Team, eventually were the winners of the Wildhorse Race. It was also a success due to the hard work of all the committee members as well!! Without the help of each committee member this rodeo would not have done so well because there is alot of hard work that goes into getting this rodeo ready and then putting on the show. I would especially like to give a huge THANKS to Jeff Walker, Rodeo Engineer because each year he puts in long, hard hours preparing the ground, directing helpers in helping him put up the arena, working with the stock contractors when the stock is delivered, getting the hay and water for all the animals, and being prepared to fix things at the drop of the hat during the rodeo. He is one of the spokes in the wheel of making the rodeo successful! Also another huge THANKS to Loretta Johnson, Salena Yallup, Debbie Jaime, Tonya Spencer, Angel Ruiz, Gaby Rodriguez, Minnie Jo Pimms, Gee Gee Speedis and Rayette Colfax they did an excellent job at the gate as all the rodeo fans were coming in to enjoy the rodeo. Another huge THANKS to our co-Secretaries Tamera Walker and Valentina Lloyd, Treasurer, Anita Patterson, and our Queen, Dora Mesplie for a job well done during this year's rodeo. Last but not least I would like to Thank Shawn Haggerty, Events Manager for all his help in making the rodeo a success. We look forward to preparing for next year's 4th Annual Rodeo and we hope it will be even more successful and exciting than this year and we hope to see you all there!
