Lizzie Dixey
Hello my name is Lizzie Dixey, I am a Reporter, Field Technician, and Photographer, here at
IRN.Com.
Here is a little about me: I was born and raised here on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, where I am an enrolled member of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. I reside in Blackfoot, Idaho, about ten miles from Ft. Hall. I am the youngest child of six, and I have grown up around rodeo, starting out in Junior rodeo, advancing to High School rodeo, and now competing in Indian rodeo, I’ve qualified for the INFR 4 times in the Breakaway event, and ended up Third in 2000, and just cant live without it.
I attended College in Pablo, Montana, for a year and a half majoring in Computer Science, and currently changed my major to Environmental Science. I plan on going back to school in the fall of 2003.

I am a Breakaway roper, Ex-Barrel Racer, Team Roper & Pole Bender. I started roping when I was 10 years old, I learned to rope from a Japanese man, who lived in Pocatello. After I learned how to rope, I picked up different tricks & tips from my Dad, Sister, Uncles, and Cousins, and am still learning, & my favorite color is Orange.
I not only rodeo, were also ranchers, we run about 100 head of cattle. I have been brought up to powwow (dance) traditional style, my mother was a former Miss Indian America, and taught me how to dance, and sew to make my own outfits. I’ve grown up competing in various competitions, for various titles, and competed in many Parades, in Western attire, and in our Beaded outfits, and Beaded Horse Outfits. I played basketball for my High School, we were 2000 A-4 Idaho Girls State Champions, I traveled to New Zeland and Australia to play Volleyball, representing my tribe, with the Ambassadors group.
I love teaching my nephew, and twin nieces how to ride, and ranch, I have put on local classes, to teach youth how to be more involved in rodeo.
Thank you for visiting our website, please come back for more news.
Sincerely, Lizzie Dixey Indianrodeonews.com
