Grade in School, name of school:  Going to be a Freshman in High School

 

Activities you are involved in at your school:  Basketball, National Honor Society, and Rodeo Club

 

Pets:     2 birds, 1 goldfish, 11 cats, 1 dog

            3 Horses – Blue Duck (roping horse), Pickles, and Striker

           

What events in Rodeo are you involved in?  Team Roping, Break Away Roping, and Steer Riding

 

What achievements have you made in your event that you compete in or activities you are involved in:

***I have won 4 saddles just in that past year; 

Northwest Team Roping Association #8 Champion

                        2 saddles at the Ty Yost Events Roping in the #4

                        Montana Circuit Finals Rodeo Dummy Roping Champion

2nd at 2003 North American Indian Days Rodeo in the Break Away and 3rd in the Steer riding           

                        1st at 2004 Sam Bird Memorial Rodeo in the Break Away Roping

2004 Most Improved Steer Wrestler at Tommy Cook Steer Wrestling School

3rd at 2004 North American Indian Days Rodeo in the team roping

 

What are your future goals in the event(s) you compete in?  “To make it to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada in ten years and to make it to the Indian National Finals Rodeo in four years in both the calf roping and team roping.”

 

 

Who is your ultimate hero?  Kobe Bryant

 

Within the rodeo world:  Who is your ultimate favorite cowboy or cowgirl?  Dustin Bird

 

What is your favorite TV show?  Anything on MTV

 

 What is your favorite Movie?  Sea Biscuit and 8 seconds

 

Who are some of your favorite musicians?  Snoop Dog and Kidd Rock 

 

What do you do to help others?  Sometimes at school I help other kids with their school work.  In basketball I help the team by showing leadership and teamwork.  I also try to help my friends and teammates make the right choices in life.  In roping, I help my brother and other lil’ cowboys by practicing with them and helping them.”

 

 

When you grow up and graduate from school, what are your plans for your profession?  “I would like to go to college somewhere in Arizona on a rodeo scholarship”

 

 

Do you plan to attend college, if so, what will you major in?  “I would like to become a lawyer”

 

 

If you could give advice to another Native youth on how to get started doing what you’re involved with, what advice would you give them?  “I would tell them that rodeo and roping takes a lot of practice and you have to have a positive attitude.  I would also advise them to buy a roping dummy, a rope, and do a lot of ground work before you try to rope off a horse.” 

 

 

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?  “To set an arena record at the National Finals Rodeo”

 

 

What would you do to educate others about being a Native American Youth from your tribe:  “I would tell them that basketball, football, running, and rodeo are very important sports to our people.  Also, that spending time with your whole family is very important too.  I mainly just practice roping or basketball everynight.”
